Monica is a proud mom of 2 adult-aged children. She graduated from Liberty University with distinguished honors with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Her love of the ocean brought her to the Eastern Shore in April of 1996, and her love for the community, and a passion for helping people to see the best in themselves while living a peaceful, balanced life led her to pursue a degree in counseling. She began her counseling career as an intern at Lighthouse Counseling in May of 2022. She specializes in treating children ages 5-17, along with adults. She has been working with children for over 10 years in pre-school learning centers and elementary public-school systems. She utilizes techniques from various counseling modalities such as CBT, Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. Monica serves the community in the following areas: Anxiety, Self-esteem, Depression, Substance-Abuse, Postpartum Depression, Parenting, and Implementation of life skills. Monica believes that God has a good plan for our lives and with encouragement, support, and an attitude of gratitude, we can accomplish our dreams and goals.
